Xiaomi SU7 Tesla Charger Lock Failure Solution

Q: Some users have reported encountering situations where the charging gun cannot be pulled out at Tesla charging stations. What is the reason for this?

A: Recently, some users have experienced the inability to unlock the charging gun normally after charging the Xiaomi SU7 using a Tesla AC home charging station. We have contacted the users through customer service and clarified the issue as follows: Through analysis, we found that after the vehicle started charging, due to severe three-phase voltage imbalance in the user’s community grid, the vehicle’s on-board charger system (OBC) reported errors three times consecutively and entered the charging protection mechanism, thus failing to respond to the user’s unlock command. Since the voltage balance of each user’s community grid varies, we will optimize the operating mechanism that triggers the charging protection mode due to errors through OTA updates in the future. Additionally, if users encounter charging gun unlocking failure, they can use the emergency unlock pull cord. The operation is as follows: First, click “Stop Charging” in the vehicle’s infotainment system, open the trunk, use appropriate tools to dismantle the trunk maintenance cover plate, find the unlock pull cord switch, pull the charging gun emergency unlock pull cord towards the front of the vehicle to unlock the charging gun and remove it normally.
