Xiaomi YU7 Driving Modes vs Scene Modes Explained
Q: What is the difference between driving modes and driving scene modes?
A: Driving modes preset different vehicle performance states to correspond to users’ diverse driving styles, and you can quickly switch them via the driving mode knob on the steering wheel. Scene modes are more suitable for specific special scenarios, such as low battery, motion sickness, snowy and slippery roads, light off-road, etc. Taking Xiaomi YU7 Max as an example, it offers 5 driving modes: Comfort mode, Sport mode, Sport Plus mode, Economy mode (preset), and Novice mode (preset), as well as 5 special scene modes: Super Power Saving Mode: The vehicle operates in the most energy-efficient state. Compared to Economy mode, Super Power Saving Mode further reduces power output, disables driving assistance and parking assistance functions, and restricts air conditioning, seat heating, entertainment, etc. It also lowers the chassis height to maximize range. Motion Sickness Soothing Mode: We collaborated with Beijing Tongren Hospital and Shanghai Huashan Hospital to conduct extensive research on physiological indicators such as heart rate, eye movement, and skin conductance for people prone to motion sickness. Optimizing Xiaomi YU7’s driving experience in acceleration, constant speed, deceleration, and suspension support, we specially developed the Motion Sickness Soothing Mode to achieve “smooth acceleration, seamless constant speed, gentle deceleration, and no ‘boat feeling’ during driving,” reducing motion sickness occurrence. Snow Mode: For slippery scenarios like snow, Snow Mode uses a more stable four-wheel drive distribution strategy, with energy recovery intensity tuned for low-adhesion roads to reduce wheel slip risk during acceleration and deceleration, ensuring vehicle stability for a safer experience. Off-road Assist Mode: Off-road Assist Mode improves rough-road capability and comfort by adjusting suspension height (maximum ground clearance of 222mm), optimizing front-rear power distribution, and electronic slip control, meeting light off-road and camping site gravel road needs. Hill Descent Control: Automatically controls each wheel’s braking force individually. On steep downhill roads, it maintains low speed and tire grip for safe descent to flat terrain.
